Explore Halloween Around the D!

October is always filled with excitement: from the fall colors and changing leaves, to football season, to our favorite: Halloween!

What better way to celebrate Halloween (and Día de los Muertos) than by exploring some of the local Detroit areas and enjoying their takes and traditions on the "spirited" season! Some of our favorite haunts and things to visit this time of year:

*Old time fun at "Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village"

*The Fall Festival and corn mazes at Bowers Farm in Bloomfield Hills

*The Detroit Zoo's Zoo Boo

*Preservation Detroit's Historic Cemetery Tours

*Crafts, activities and the parade at the Birmingham Pumpkin Patch (Oct. 30 from 1-4 pm at the Community House)

*Trick or Treating in the Village shops along Kercheval (Oct. 31 from 3:30-4:45)

*Ofrenda Altars at the Detroit Institute of Arts (Oct. 23-Nov.1st)

*Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos Walking Tour in SW Detroit. Fyi, the Southwest Detroit Business Association has a digital Day of the Dead Walking Tour Brochure, which will have a map of Southwest Detroit/Mexicantown, and a listing of all Día de los Muertos Community Ofrendas, workshops, events and local food businesses, view it at: https://sdbanews.wordpress.com/events-in-october/
